It’s here! We are excited to share that you can directly publish Instagram Reels from HeyOrca! You can plan, approve and publish your Reels directly in one place! No more mobile notifications.

We are so excited to share this update with you. As most of you know, Instagram Reels has taken off majorly and is expected to be a big trend going into 2022. 

Here are some reasons to schedule Reels on HeyOrca

How does it work?

Step 1: Create an Instagram Post on the calendar, or edit an existing post in the calendar.

Step 2: In the post type section, click the drop-down menu and change the “post” to “Reels”. This will format your post so that it is cropped to the dimensions you need for posting. Your Reels posts will be labelled on the calendar to differentiate them from other Instagram posts.

Step 3: Edit your Reel! You will be able to add multiple pieces of media. You’ll be able to get your approvals from your team as well as make comments or leave feedback!

Step 4: When your Reel is scheduled, it will be published automatically from your calendar!

Here are some things to note when publishing Instagram Reels:

  • Reels are shared on your feed automatically and will appear in the Grid view
  • You can choose a thumbnail from the video as your cover photo
  • Reels published through HeyOrca will be original audio (we aren’t able to choose trending audio at this time)
  • You can publish Reels up to 15 mins, but between 5 seconds & 90 seconds is recommended

  • 18 hours a week is the average time people are spending watching videos

Not quite convinced? Take a look at this recent study conducted by Creatopy. In this study, they ran the exact same 15-second ad on both TikTok and Instagram Reels and analyzed the results. Here are some key takeaways:

  • The Reels ad received a reach of 389,298 and the TikTok ad received a reach of 199,477.
  • The Instagram Reels ad received 604,350 impressions and the TikTok ad received 228,537.
  • The Instagram Reels ad received 36 clicks and the TikTok ad received 28
