LinkedIn may not get as many daily video views as Instagram or Facebook but that doesn’t mean the platform should be ruled out. Less views means less competition to get your content out there. For many B2B companies LinkedIn is an ideal platform for marketing and now publishing videos is better outlet to get their brand across.

We are excited to announce that we support LinkedIn Video publishing through HeyOrca! 🙌

So here are four reasons why you should be posting videos on LinkedIn and how to do it on HeyOrca!

1. Video Content is Optimized for Mobile Feeds

With Facebook, Instagram and Snapchat focusing more and more on video content in stories, LinkedIn still remains as a newsfeed. To increase reach and engagement, video is the optimal form of marketing for feeds.

According to LinkedIn’s research more than half of LinkedIn content is viewed mobily. Roughly 57% of all those who visit LinkedIn do so on a mobile device. Mobile videos take up 78% more space on desktop and mobile screen than landscape so you’re getting the most real estate on your screen with mobile video.

Also according to LinkedIn, about 80% of video views take place with the sound off. So including text and subtitles of your video will better help your message get across.

2. Video Will Increase Your Earned Media Reach

LinkedIn data shows that video is now being shared 20 times more often than other content on the platform.

This is especially important for B2B marketers as LinkedIn says 80% of B2B leads come from LinkedIn, and 94% of B2B marketers use LinkedIn to distribute content.

3. Over 80% of all traffic will consist of video by 2021

According to Cisco projections that 80% of internet traffic will consist of video sharing, streaming and downloading.

Video is seen as high-quality content so they are optimized for search engines. Because of this, your video content on LinkedIn (or any other platform) will work wonders for your SEO. Consider optimizing your videos with the right keywords, a solid meta description and a strong title.

4. LinkedIn is Encouraging Video on the Platform with New Templates

LinkedIn has teamed up with Animoto, a cloud-based video creation service, to create six templates for LinkedIn video. From ‘New Product Launch’ to ‘Webinar Event Promo’, LinkedIn is helping digital marketers get their content into videos.

Conclusion

Video is huge on any platform so it's no surprise that LinkedIn is pushing users to create more video content for their personal or business pages. Now creating and publishing videos to LinkedIn has never been easier, whether you are trying to recruit, sell your product or expand your company's reach.
