Community is such a huge piece of the puzzle at HeyOrca. Not only do we want to be the social media scheduler that will help you take back your day, but we also want to be able to provide a space where social media managers feel belonged and supported. 

So far, we’ve done this through our Facebook Group, The HeyOrca Community, our newsletter The HeyOrca Brief, and our weekly webinars. We absolutely love interacting with our community and providing you the resources you need to succeed in your career. The HeyOrca Stans community is a private space where we can interact with our top users and get their input in shaping the future of HeyOrca. 

Since this is a brand new community, we’ve selected a small group of users to be our Founding Stans. These individuals will help shape the community and help us get it up and running.

Meet the Founding Stans

Meet Sassy! When Sassy was 13 she declared she wanted to be a DJ. Fast forward to college graduation and she was off to her first radio gig as the night girl on a classic rock radio station!  She worked on-air in Grand Junction, Denver, and Nashville. She has stories for days and an insane amount of old concert tickets. This is where she grew her marketing, sales, and promotions wings. She ran a number 1 radio station, was part of a top morning show, built a promotions department from the ground up, organized large-scale events, and managed to get Program Directors and Sales Reps to agree on things.  

In 2016, she took her radio skills to real estate. Marketing for a home builder and later a Real Estate Agency. It was in real estate that she fell in love with digital marketing and did a brief stint at a marketing agency where she would be an account manager helping clients build websites and invest in digital marketing services.  Now Sassy works at PrimeStreet (a company that connects real estate pros and clients) as the Marketing Specialist. Her  job is to build all aspects of the brand through advertising and social media! Sassy loves being creative, telling stories and helping a brand grow! 

Meet Rachel! Rachel Niyonkuru is an experienced communications professional, working in the social media and public relations industry for over five years. 

She is a Senior Account Manager at Flying Camel, an Ontario-based full-service marketing agency niched in the home and interior design category. Rachel is an essential part of her team as she spearheads content creation, manages various aspects of social campaigns across multiple platforms, and leads the execution of PR and event initiatives. Rachel has worked with several notable North American brands helping to improve their digital presence and brand awareness, including, Cabico cabinetry, Elmwood cabinets, Hamilton Beach Canada, KBIS (the Kitchen and Bath Industry Show), and Proctor Silex Canada.

Meet Emily! Emily Paetau is a seasoned professional with 5+ years as Director of Managed Services at DigiSphere Marketing, overseeing Social Media, SEO, and PPC efforts. 

A former roller derby enthusiast of over 5 years, Emily thrives on challenges. Based in Florida, she's a proud mom to a 4-year-old and a household filled with pets including cats, dogs, chickens, and ducks. Balancing work and play, Emily frequents beaches, explores Disney, and has recently explored Iceland and Japan with her family.

Meet Robin! Robin has over 20 years of marketing and communications experience and is the co-owner of ARC: Active Results Collaborative, a marketing agency based in Milton, ON, that works with motivated entrepreneurs and small business owners to develop strategies for digital transformations of their brand. 

Robin and her business partner, Cheryl Rak, believe that every business, no matter the size, should have access to helpful resources to plan and execute marketing solutions that work! Some of the services offered by Robin and her team are: Branding, Content Strategy, Promotional Products, Social Media Management and Website Development. Robin is also a mother to a young adult. When Robin is not busy working for her clients, you can find her spending time with her family & friends. She enjoys exploring new places, wine, chocolate and is a firm believer in the support local movement!

Meet Jessica! She’s a social media fanatic and marketing expert who has been working with HeyOrca! for three years now.

Ashley is currently a Marketing Assistant at BKN Creative. She is located in Tampa, Florida and is a lover of analytics, traveling, and loose-leaf tea.

Meet Jenn! One could say her social media management started in Jenn’s college days.  She taught herself to code HTML for a vanity website she was working on. That was a skill she carried on to her eventual job in county government where she managed the office’s website and, eventually, its Facebook page. That self-taught skill has carried over into more than 20 years of website development and social media work through blogs and other social media outlets.

Jenn graduated from Lebanon Valley College with a double major in German and English Communications.She is a creative person at heart, and is an experienced photographer and artist. Jenn incorporates her photography into her social media work quite a bit!  

Currently, Jenn works for Landmark Abstract/Homesale Settlement Services as both a social media manager and title insurance commitment specialist. Her previous work in county government was for a related real estate office, so her skill sets are unique here.  She is based in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. For fun, she likes to knit and go to concerts. Jenn is a huge metal head and enjoys supporting her favorite bands. Jenn  also enjoys learning new languages and traveling.  

Meet Pamalyn! Pamalyn Beeler is the Project Coordinator at Content Lift Co, a digital marketing company based in Loveland, Colorado. She lives in downtown Loveland with her wife, Bethany, and their three cat-astrophes: Bigguns, Frank, and Possum. Her passions include LGBTQIA+ advocacy, camping in her 1973 VW camper/bus, and visiting local meaderies, breweries, and pubs.

Meet Megan! Following a 13-year career in corporate healthcare marketing and public relations, Megan Powell ventured out to pursue her true passion—helping small businesses build their brands and successfully promote their businesses. In 2020, Megan founded The Write Content Company, a boutique marketing agency that specializes in copywriting, content creation, and social media marketing.

Megan has extensive experience in traditional and digital marketing strategies, advertising, public relations, copywriting, content creation, SEO-optimized website copy, and crisis communication. She's worked with hospitals, pharmacies, dietitians and nutritionists, physician practices, universities, real estate companies, construction and mortgage companies, non-profit agencies, and many small businesses in various other industries.

Meet Rachel! Rachel Stagg is a Marketing Director at Mid-South Roof Systems with five years of agency experience before her current role. She combines her passion for organization and people to create marketing strategies that help companies reach their goals. 

With her experience with brands ranging from consumer electronics to real estate, she understands how to create an effective marketing strategy for various audiences. She is eager about her new role and excited to continue to grow her marketing expertise with other HeyOrca Stans.

Meet Micah! Working in the food industry for nearly 15 years, six of which, as a manager, it was time for a change. Micah decided one day to go back to college and get a degree in digital media.

Micah’s fiancé (Jade) and him love to travel. They have been to the Pacific Northwest, Costa Rica, and Portugal. He has two fur babies, Cricket (the calico) and Moo Moo (the tuxedo), and they are the light of his life. In his downtime, he likes to build Legos (some things you do not grow out of), watch movies, and photography.

Meet Josh! Josh Gorero is a Social Media and Digital Design Manager at The Narrative Project, an innovative public relations agency headquartered in New Haven, Connecticut, USA. Committed to driving positive change, The Narrative Project specializes in anti-racism advocacy, social justice initiatives, and socially responsible communications.

With a multifaceted background, Josh combines his creative prowess and project management expertise to lead impactful digital campaigns. He holds a B.A. in Political Science from Quinnipiac University and further honed his skills with an M.S. in Interactive Media and Communications.

Beyond his professional endeavors, Josh finds inspiration in his passions outside the office. An avid cook, he delights in crafting delectable dishes. His wanderlust spirit has taken him across diverse landscapes, fueling his love for exploration. A skilled photographer, Josh captures moments that resonate with the beauty of life's intricacies.

Meet Jasmine! Jasmine Torres is a Social Media Manager committed to bringing laughter and empathy to every interaction. When she’s not mentoring or connecting with the digital marketing community, she can be found painting, reading, or embroidering.

Meet Lauren! Lauren Don, the Founder and CEO of Don Creative Group, a boutique digital marketing agency focused on crafting exquisite brands, curating organic social media content, and delivering robust website development solutions.

Driven by her passion to serve small businesses, Lauren established Don Creative Group in 2020 with a clear mission in mind – to provide innovative and captivating marketing content tailored to the unique needs of her clients.

Originally hailing from New York, Lauren now resides in the sunny state of Florida, sharing her life with her husband and adorable Aussies.

Meet Laura! Haunt advertising and social media pro, Laura Kilpatrick has been directing, designing, and executing effective marketing campaigns for top-ten haunted attractions for the last decade. As acting Art Director and Social Media Manager for FearWorm, Laura merges her passion for haunted attractions with her creative prowess in order to capture today’s consumers. 

Meet Stephanie! Stephanie Jade Wong is a NY-based writer, editor, and content creator. With a background in journalism and experience in social media and customer care, she strives to help others share their stories with the world. When she’s not typing away on her laptop, you can find her at a group fitness class or a nearby coffee shop.

Meet Kate! Sharing a wonderful journey of over 23 years with her amazing husband, and being a proud Dog Mom to two furry friends, life has been quite the adventure. Nestled in the Bloomington Normal area for two decades, Kate had the joy of building skills in restaurant marketing, hospitality, event planning, and media marketing. From coordinating weddings to managing events as a General Manager, her journey has been diverse. Over time, her passion for media marketing grew, allowing her to dive deep into social media, design, and digital marketing.

Moxii came to life because Kate believe’s in chasing life's passions. It's her way of blending what she loves with what she does. Her goal? Helping others reach their dreams. At Moxii, they're all about social media, design, web development, and digital marketing. Their team's like family, and they love crafting unique strategies to help businesses succeed.

Meet Marie! Marie is a Social Media Strategist who has been in the print and digital marketing industry for over seven years. Her current role includes project management, client onboarding, strategy deck creation and content curation. 

She's lucky enough to work with an incredible team of social media strategists and specialists on creative digital storytelling in a rapidly changing industry!

Meet Cathrine! Catherine is an assistant media strategist at the Pinckney Hugo Group in Syracuse, New York. She started her work in digital marketing in 2014 through her work with The Lady Project- a non-profit which focused on connecting, inspiring & showcasing awesome women doing amazing things.

Meet Sabryna! She's been in the Digital Marketing field for more than eight years with particular expertise in Social Media Marketing. In her past positions, she worked with dozens of brands between three top C.P.G. companies.

For the last two years, Sabryna has been helping launch the Digital Marketing branch of A2Z – a small-but-mighty design, marketing, and PR agency in Northeast Wisconsin. Here, she had the chance to work in industries like the non-profit sector, the local festival circuit, hospitality and events, aviation, tourism, B2B marketing, and more.

When she is not in the office, or renovating her fixer-upper with her husband of 11 years, she enjoys spending time with her fur & scale family: 4 cats, 2 dogs, a lizard, and a tortoise. Sabryna also loves to stay active with biking, hiking, swimming, and gardening. In her downtime, she plays all manner of games with her friends and family. Sabryna is also an avid novel reader, and likes to dabble in writing her own.
